And I fear that the next big thing is going to be something I haven't done before.
Second? Those things are important enough that they good for people — aren't only tools.
Interacting with touch is so important, and natural, that all the big players are embracing using touch. Google, Microsoft, Slack, and Salesforce have all embraced touch based interfaces.
But this is only part of the story. These technologies, even if they are the latest thing, only beginning.
We are really close to reaching a tipping point in the design industry, which majority of what we do is going to be done with touch, and not mouse. It's already happening.
Touch interfaces are everywhere on our devices. And the touch interface — what we call web-based interfaces — are also so ubiquitous, their dominance will be complete in no time, I believe.
I'm not talking about all websites and apps, nor types of devices. I am speaking about ones built for touch, like Amazon's app store in store. I'm talking about those built purely for touch, such as Microsoft's HoloLens and Skype's Skype for Business.
It's not only these web-based interfaces. In the near future, majority of what we do will be done with the touch interface.
Think of an app like Amazon's Kindle, where we interact with menus, cards and "books" that are always the right size and positioned just right. Or Google's Search app, where we can use all of the information that search pulls from our Google accounts, and get the right search results that we might normally get from a Web-based interface.
